Still Knitting Socks

I cheated and knitting something else for just a few hours, but here are the socks I've finished so far for the August KAL.

Pair #2:  Monkey Socks in Claudia Hand Paints

Pair #4: Triple Threat in Hazel Knits Artisan or Entice (it was super soft)

Let me share a secret with you!  One sock that I finished in March has 14 repeats of the pattern.. the one I finished in August only has 13!  The back of the leg is quite sexy!

Did you notice the beads?  I don't know beads that shout out, "Look at me!"

And this is pair #5:  It's my own design.. I didn't write anything down for the first sock, so I'm knitting the second one by looking at the first and it's mirroring the first one!

I'm knitting the heel flap now, but I'm itching to start a new shawl by Romi, called Swoop.  I have to wind yarn, start it to make sure that I'll like it before I pack it for my trip.

I'll be in Boston for a week - my first time there.  I'm meeting two Ravelrers - one I have not met before and one I met (Dianne) at Sock Summit in 2011.

and a baby sweater for my friend's grandson.  It's a 6 month-size.. He was born 2 weeks ago...

And now, I'm going to start a shawl!!

 

Sock Knitting Month

It's August!! And this is when I try to finish pairs of socks. I don't know if I mentioned that I was back in Asia in July. Prior to my travels, I dug out the socks I planned to finish.






Yep - there are 8 bags!







The first one I tackled is the Papillotes by RoseHiver. I finished the pair on August 4.






The next one is another Pair of Monkey Socks. This was the state of them before my trip.





I managed to finish one sock on the trip.





Now, I'm working on the second sock!!





These are the rest of the socks I will work in this month.




































I have another trip planned on August 30. I'm going to Boston for s nephew's wedding. But there are two knitting activities involved. The first one is that a Ravelry friend has invited my husband and I to spend a night on Nantucket Island!! The second one involves another Ravelry friend, Dianne to meet at the Webs Yarn Shop. I'm very excited but I have not gotten over my jet lag. And I have a lot of work to do at work. So it's going to be quite a busy couple of weeks and I have to finish a lot of pairs of socks!! I just realized this will be the closest I get to Jennifer!!
