I haven't taken a photo of this modeled yet, although it has been off the pins for a week now. This is my new favorite shawl. Just love the colors. The pattern is Romi's Carson.
On Saturday, Romi released the second pattern of the 2015 Pins & Laces club. It's called Flowers for Yvonne! I have never used Laceweight yarn and I think Yvonne is proud of me and smiling from Heaven that I'm knitting this shawl named after her with LACE yarn! But I'm using size 5 needles, so it's not as bad as it sounds. It started with casting a gazillion stitches and then, you short-rowed it to a small number and then, you do something, and then, you knit on the lace border/edging... you'll see when I get there - whenever that is. I have not taken any photos of my project, but this should be the finished project.. This is a photo from the pattern, Flowers for Yvonne, by Romi (Rosemary Hill). It may look overwhelming, but the pattern is quite simple - just keep at it.. Romi writes such good patterns.
I'm also using a BLUE yarn - Yvonne's favorite color (which also happens to be mine). I'm using Wollmeise Lace that I bought in Germany. I haven't given up on it, even though I've only knitted 10 rows!
Last weekend, I went with my knitting buddies, Pam and Cathy, to the Shepard's Harvest Wool Festival. I did not do much harm - maybe 3 skeins of yarn? I haven't taken photos to show you, so I won't count them.. But here are some photos of the festival.
Yep - I bought this worsted MCN to make this shawl. It looks like something I would wear and looks like a good travel project.
Also like this poncho - but most probably, it's because of the gradient colors and the cabley lace spine. I did not buy the kit, but I may buy the pattern Trade Winds Ponchette. It also looks boring enough that I would not finish. So, for now, I will just admire it.
I also bought a bunch of these Mohair locks. I don't think I'll use them for weaving (oh yes, I used to weave and I haven't even shown you my weaving project!!). But maybe I'll use them for greeting cards.
What else?
Oh, yes, I started a shawlette/scarf... the pattern is Tre O Molti. But instead of using 3 colors, I'm using my mini skeins from Yarnover - the ModeKnits Yarn mini skeins in the Dragon Dance (Game of Thrones) colors.
It's a fun and addicting knit.. Would be fun for your leftover sock yarn. There are 12 sections.. I'm on section 7. Photo was up to section 6.. Section 7 is in red for Red Wedding, I believe.
