Well, I try to... I want to, but I've been knitting more, spending less time on the computer - i.e. Ravelry. Which means, I'm spending less on buying yarn because I didn't get enabled. ALTHOUGH, when I'm on Facebook, I see these ads from Jimmy Bean's on exclusive Madelinetosh colors, so how could I resist? I am going to start counting skeins of yarn I buy again in 2015 - until I give up.
So, let's start from when I last blogged.. I was in Hawaii... I did not knit much (which was good news). I never touched the shawl I started (which I have since frogged because I want to use the yarn for another project). The Monkey socks (#1) made it past the gusset. And it stayed there...

BTW, my Ashford Knitter's Loom arrived. I will blog that in a separate post.
I started two shawls in the last 2 weeks. The first one is the latest hot pattern - Fox Paws. It's a GAUDY stole - some of the colors are so ugly, but you can't help being fascinated by the design and when it's all done, it's this mesmerizing bright item. And so, I'm using this sport-weight yarn. I can't memorize the yarn company...

The first repeat of 16 rows took me about 12 hours to achive this:

This photo includes 2 rows of the 2nd repeat. There are 6 repeats for each complete rotation of colors. You are to repeat this at least 2 times and you work until you had enough of 3 full rotation. I copied the order of charts and added a key to which colors is which letter:

The second repeat took about 3 hours of knitting:

And now, I'm on the 3rd repeat.
The second shawl I'm knitting is a KAL hosted by the Verdant Gryphon group. We are to use a special color that was offered for a very short time, but I already have 4 skeins of Blue Morpho. I'm knitting Romi's Carson, a pattern I've been wanted to knit for a while. I've seen many Carson shawls in real life and can't wait to knit it. I love Blue Morpho. I'm pairing it with River in Paradise (both bases in Bugga). Unfortunately, my camera can't handle the bright blue and so you will just see Blue Morpho in its glory.

I have to tell you about weaving and new acquired yarns. I think each time I acquire new yarn, I'll just have a separate post so I can keep track of newly acquired skeins. Yes, I'm going to count by skeins!
But, here are some of my favorite photos of Maui... I would like to go back again! This is on the Kapalua Trail:

With pro golfer Matt Kuchar. Should have had him hold my hand-knit sock!

And yes, I love Humpback whales as much as knitting. I've loved them before I started knitting. At one point, I may have more books on whales than knitting! But knitting has taken over... Maybe I need to come up with some whale tail design.. haha...
