Damson was completed over a week ago. I wore it to work one day. This was when it was being blocked. I used Bugga in Nudibranch November 2011 and I knew I would run out of yarn so I did some striping with Dainty Sulphur. I regretted using Nudi on the last row before the edging. I should have just kept everything in the same color.
Today, being it's over 60 degrees outside (yes, the week before, we woke up with a windchill of -2), I managed to get Emily to model for me.
Right away after Damson was off the needles, I started Color Affection. These are the colors I decided on:
Bugga in iSkein, Blue Lobster, and Northern Gold Purple Beetle. It went pretty fast. I have about 4 repeats left before I start working on the short rows to bring in the 3rd color:
On March 1, I cast on Firestarter. It was so addicting. In 4 days, I finished the entire foot (it's toe-up!), including the heel flap. And then, it went downhill because Christine meets Twisted Rib. It has taken 4 days to knit the next 2 inches. This is where I'm at:
Goodies that arrived this week include this set of mini skeins. It had most of the colors offered by The Verdant Gryphon. I don't know what to do with them yet. Hexiflats? I haven't knitted those for a while. I prefer to make progress on my mitered square blanket.
Also, the Sanguine Gryphon Nudibranch shipped out the last package. It was a 6-month subscription and I kep thinking Sanguine Gryphon is still alive but now, it's final - it's over! I can't say that I'm happy to be shopping from two sites. I ended up buying twice as much! Thank goodness most of the colors are not new! This is the last installment, which I'm putting up for sale. I just don't wear green with yellow (Dainty Sulphur was stretching my boundary, actually).
And finally, this came today in the mail. I wasn't going to mention it, but I logged on to Typepad and saw Jennifer's post HERE. She talked about being a hoarder - which I totally understand. But she only bought 17 of these? I bought 60!!
You know all those stitchmarkers I traded for at Sock Summit? They're still in a bag. These are the ones I use. I love them. They come in a pouch of 20 for $14 (ya, a bit pricey! but they are very well made. I've not had any beads come loose - unlike some cheaper ones I've bought). You can shop Knitifacts at Etsy HERE. These are the Ringlets. They are good up to size 8 needles.
OK - perfect evening - everyone is away. I can cook something up for myself and start knitting. I need to wind some Skinny Bugga for a seecrit project!
P/S - Did I tell you I'm going to China for a couple of weeks in May? I've been looking at sock and shwal patterns. I think I will work on 2 pairs of socks and 1 shawl and 1 extra - just in case I have a lot of time while waiting or sitting in buses during the tour. And yes, some electronic gadget will be coming along so I can blog. I'm worried the iPad won't cut it. What if there is only internet access but not wifi? So I need to hard wire! 2 weeks is a long time not being to access Ravelry. I will miss all the yarn sales and all the new pattern releases. Ya, I need to be online! To you, it would be like I'm right here - well, except some Chinese sock will be narrating while I'm gone. I hope her English is good and you won't need any translation.
The Damson turned out nicely. It's kind of an interesting construction.
What's the yarn you're using for the Firestarter?
I LOVE the Ringlets. Must get some .....
Will your Chinese sock be narrating in Cantonese or Mandarin?

Nice shawl. I love the rainbow skeins of yarn. China sounds fun.
