I present you pair #14. I am really doubting I can finish 20 pairs this year. Maybe I'll be lucky to get 16 pairs in!
I keep thinking of my stash and how I simply CANNOT buy any more sock yarn (you believe me, don't you??) and yet, I have no time to knit socks for others. Luckily, I do have worsted yarn in my stash and I decided to make this ever easy yet intriguing scarf, simply called "Chevron Scarf" by Thora Lee Johnson, who taught me how to knit socks. Thora Lee is an instructor at Amazing Threads. You can also find this pattern in their freebies section. My first scarf was chewed up by Chip after spilling chicken juice (from a Costo Chicken Bake sandwich) and leaving the scarf on the floor! I made the 2nd scarf for my neighbor Terry, the third one went to my niece, Isabelle, and now, this one will go to Eve, my good friend from work. Eve is very crafty - we share cooking, stamping, and scrapbooking ideas. Her recollection of hand-knitted socks were made by her grandmother in Germany and she remembers them with slouching cuffs. I will prove her wrong one day! Here's Eve's scarf (using Lorna's Laces Worsted in the Watercolor colorway):
Eve has a Teal coat, a Plum coat, and a Tan leather jacket. People here in Minnesota has as many coats as people in Florida has swimming suits, I guess. Today, the high will be -2 degrees Fahrenheit! Anyway, this scarf should go well with any of Eve's outerwear.
